Obedience... That is a word we hear often in the lifestyle, isn't it? And every person has a different opinion on the answer. To me, personally, it is following Master's guidance, adhering to His rules, and, yes, doing as I am told, no matter how small I think the task to be. Master always has His reasons for making up a rule or a task, and, usually, they are for the betterment of His girls. An example of this is bed time. Master knows, if given the chance, I would stay up all night and then sleep most of the day away. So, I have a bed time and a lights out time. By following these, I am better able to serve Master by being well rested.
I obey the rules, accomplish my tasks, and respect Master's wishes, not for fear of discipline or punishment, but because Master has earned the respect and obedience. My motivation for obeying Master is the look of pride, the silent praise, or the loving embrace for a job well done. Just knowing Master is pleased with me is enough to motivate me to behave and obey Master's wishes and commands.
The truest obedience comes not from fear of reprisal, but from honor of pride.
