Submissives are NOT Doormats, Damn it

There is a common misconception about submissives, slaves, property, and other bottoms, especially those of us who do live it 24/7. Many people hear "Submissive" and they think "doormat," especially when the submissive is a male. This is not the case at all.
It takes a special person to be a bottom (I use this term to encompass all submissives, no matter the title you prefer with your dynamic). Without bottoms, there would be no Dominants. We do, in many ways, make the world go 'round.
Some of the strongest people I know and have met in my life have been bottoms. There are more famous bottoms then there are tops! Did you know that?
The singer/actor Meatloaf is an open bottom. He is a masochist who enjoys CBT. It is true!
Bonnie Tyler, singer/songwriter, is an open slave who even wears her collar at many of her concerts!
Ozzy Osbourn and his daughter are both bottoms.
Sarah Gilbert, Elen DeGeneris, Jodie Sweeten, Melissa Ethridge, Bob Sagat, all bottoms. Even Glen Quagmire on Family Guy is a bottom!
So, you see, there is nothing weak, wrong, or shameful about being a bottom. On average, there are three bottoms for every top within the lifestyle. The old saying, slaves have more fun, is true. We hold a lot of power and control, even if we do not let our Dominants know it and even without realizing it. There is a secret within the rank and file of submissives, without us, the lifestyle stops, we hold all the power, we just let the Dominants think they do.
